Just to answer questions ahead of time, the beans are instant because they cook in only 20 MINUTES!!! The ice cream is made to eat in its Freeze Dried state and the yogurt can go both ways and is cheaper than Name brand baby yogurt bites so you could make a little "baby trail mix" with them by mixing yogurt bits and fruit pieces. The great thing about them is adults can't stop eating them either.  The staff at Shelf Reliance really outdid themselves with all of the wonderful flavors they've come up with.  Pomegranite is my personal favorite.  If you would like to try some, let me know!

Hope you're having a fantastic weekend!!!

I am happy to announce that Shelf Reliance has created websites for consultants now.  What does that mean for you?  If you were wanting to place an order directly through me to ensure that you were getting the cheapest party prices, you can have confidence that it will be sent through me.  Also, if you were wanting to place an order online and have it connected to another host's party, it will allow me to do that with greater ease.  The website is www.shelfreliance.com/shelfreliancemom .  The other great thing that Shelf Reliance announced is that Q club members will now be receiving an even greater discount from the regular online price.  This is supposed to be a reward for all of you regular orderers out there who are trying to build up a home store of your own :) I love getting exclusive deals!  Contact me at TiffsTreasures@gmail.com if you have any questions.

Classic Banana Bread Recipe

We were asked to bring recipes to exchange at the Ignite Convention being held in Salt Lake, so I decided I would bring a Banana Bread Recipe.  I don't know if most of you are like me, but I love adding bananas to muffins, pancakes, breads and many other things. They allow for sweetness that you don't have to feel guilty about!  What would food storage be without a banana bread recipe?  I'm so happy that THRIVE has wonderful reyhydratable bananas which I know hold up to my standards for baking :)  This recipe was adapted from the Cooking Light website, but I just had to make it THRIVE friendly.

Classic Banana Bread
3 c warm water                      1 c sugar
1 ¾ c THRIVE banana slices ¼ c THRIVE butter powder
2 c all-purpose flour              2 ½ T THRIVE egg powder
3/4 t baking soda                   1/3 c yogurt or sour cream
1/2 t salt                                  1 t vanilla
Cooking spray                         2-3 T brown sugar

Place banana slices and warm water in a bowl as set aside.  Once bananas are rehydrated, save the liquid as you drain them.  Preheat oven to 350°. Lightly spoon flour into dry measuring cups; level with a knife. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt, stirring with a whisk. Place sugar, butter, egg powder and ½ c of reserved water in a large bowl and beat with a mixer at medium speed until well blended (about 2 minutes). Add banana, yogurt, and vanilla; beat until blended. Add flour mixture; beat at low speed just until moist. Spoon batter into an 8 1/2 x 4 1/2-inch loaf pan coated with cooking spray. Sprinkle brown sugar on top. Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes in pan on a wire rack; remove from pan. Cool completely on wire rack.

Note: I haven’t made this with THRIVE powder sour cream yet, but I can’t wait to try it out!  I would also recommend the chocolate swirl recipe.

To order any of the above ingredients, just go to www.shelfreliancemom.shelfreliance.com . Thanks!

Free Platinum Membership to the Q

The Q is an awesome program which allows you to convert the food from the Free Food Planner into monthly deliveries to your house and you recieve the party prices for life.  If you sign up for this program through a consultant, you will receive the Platinum Membership for free for life as long as it is established before February 15th. This allows people to get exclusive sales on products (In December it was on wheat grinders, January on broccoli, February on butter powder) as well as recipes, gifts, exclusive recipes and you earn points for free products with every dollar that you spend on the Q.  After the 15th if someone were to join the Q it would cost 79.99 start up plus a 19.99 annual fee.  I posted a link which describes how to navigate the Q at the bottom of the page.

Unfortunately, I am going out of town the night of the 14th so if you are still interested and you find out about this on the 15th, please give me a call and I will see if I can have someone input your info for me because I don't want anyone to miss out on this incredible deal.

On my personal Q, I usually have things delivered to me that are on sale for that month so I send each of my customers the price list each month. The new pricelist will be available March 1st when they release their new products!!!  Please email me at TiffsTreasures@gmail.com if you are interested in receiving the Q or if you would like to get put on my list to recieve the pricelist each month.  The other incentive to join right now is that the amount that you do the Q for gets tripled for your party sales, so if you were to do 130 a month, that would bring your party sales to 390 before anyone else even bought anything!  I love the double dipping program!

This is a video that helps you to understand the Q

If you need more questions answered, you can call me at 575-621-0274 anytime between 830am-1100pm on Monday.

To sign up, you will need a customer email password, which I will set up for you if you notify me.  Using this, you will login to http://www.shelfreliance.com/ and click on the tab that says Tools.  Click the opton that says Q.  On the bottom of the page it says "How much food storage do I need" or "I know what I want, lets shop".  If you click on the blue button it will take you to a page where you will fill out all of the family member information.  After you've filled out the percentages of what you need, it will take you to a page where it lists the food you will need.  Then, there are two buttons on the top the page which say Buy Monthly or Buy Now.  If you select the Buy Monthly it will have you establsh the monthly budget you choose, the date you on which you would like it to ship and the credit card information.  Don't finalize the payment as I will need to do this in order for you to receive the platinum membership to the Q club for free.  If you finalize it without being under me, it will charge you the start up fee.  Please let me know if this occurs on accident and I will see if changes can be made through Shelf Reliance.

Have you gone a week without running water?

What I learned this week!
This week was a doosey for Las Cruces, El Paso and Alamogordo (and I'm sure many other areas, but these are the cities from whom I've heard stories!)  We Southwesterners who are not used to getting a Winter Wonderland were quite taken back when only 2 days after having 60+ degree high, we had negative temperatures for our lows.  We had record snowfall and temperatures for a couple days.  Unfortunately, many people were out of water for a couple days.

I was really grateful for the water storage I had, but decided that I would be even more diligent about keeping water in the house.  You don't realize how many times you use water in day until you go to wash your hands, flush the toilet, brush your teeth... not even mentioning drinking, cooking, doing dishes, laundry and oh yeah... SHOWERS!!!  People were going to Walmart just to buy water to be able to drink something.  My mother and father-in-law went out to eat at restaurants and stayed at a hotel because they were tired  of not having water in the house.  This isn't necessarily possible for everyone, but water storage is so I'd like to let everyone in on the products that I personally use to give others an idea of how possible water storage really is.

Everyone can store water:
You don't have to buy products to store water in your home.  Most people have Juice, Gatorade or Soda bottles in their home.  These can be used to store water inside the house if you can just devote a little space in your house that isn't typically exposed to sunlight.  Don't throw out those laundry detergent bottles because even though they are no good for storing drinking water, if you just fill them up with water after using up the soap (DON'T RINSE OUT) you have a perfectly good container with soapy water for laundry, dishes, or whatever purpose the cleaner serves.  If you don't typically drink liquids previously mentioned and would like to invest a little money in containers, I must tell you that it is well worth it.  We, ourselves, actually have a few 5 gallon water holders in the house, a 55 gallon drum in the yard and this month we will being buying the best purifier ever!

Start small and grow with whatever room you have in your budget and you'll be glad you did next time there's an emergency.

Did you know?
Most people know that the human body cannot survive without water for more than 3 days, but they don't realize how much we should each be storing.  The minimum amount recommended by experts is 14 gallons per person.  This is supposed to help you scrape by for 2 weeks if you only used the bare necessities for eating and cooking.  Please keep in mind that this doesn't allow you to shower, wash dishes or flush your toilets so if you can get the minimum, GREAT, if you can get more, all the better for you and yours.  Also, storing the water in these plastic containers is not quite a done deal.  You need to make sure that you add a little bleach to fight off any bacterial growth which would later make it unsafe to drink.  Many people also like to store drink mixes in case they had to live off of this water so it would cover up the taste.  It is recommended that you only use name brand CLOROX bleach original scent as the others have not yet been tested safely over time.  You only need to add a couple drops of bleach to 1 gallon if it is previously treated.  If not, then double it.  If you are going to add bleach to a 5 gallon container, it will take about 1/2 t of bleach and for a 55 gallon drum it will be about 2 T of bleach.  If you have pets, don't forget to store something for them as well.  Also, the best way to make sure water is safe before consumption is to boil it for at least 10 minutes.

Katadyn Pocket Microfilter #52508 Good for purifying up to 13,000 gallons!

55 Gallon Water Storage Container #52519 BPA free and good for storing outside.  If this is your first purchase of a large container you might want to get the whole kit that treats the water and sipons the water and this is #52521.

Water Treatment #52534

Iodine Tablets #52536 Full strength tablet for radiation blocking and FDA safe.

5 Gallon Water Container #52522 Also BPA free and great for storing indoors.

Faucet Cap #52529 Easy water distribution from the 5 gallon containers.

water brick #52543 Water storage containers that can be connected for easy transportation stacked as high as you need!

And now, a few conversions for you:

1 person.......14 gallons
2 people.......28 gallons
3 people.......42 gallons
4 people.......56 gallons
5 people.......70 gallons
6 people.......84 gallons

2- 64 ounce juice containers = 1 gallon
1- 55 gallon drum roughly = minimum for a family of 4

Note: In freezing temps you will need to empty the drums outside to only 2/3 full to prevent the container from busting when it turns into ice!

If interested in these or any other products, just go to www.shelfreliancemom.shelfreliance.com . Thanks!
