Taxes starting April 1st

This is just a little note that if you were drooling over that Harvest 72", awesome water purifier or barrel, or emergency kit you only have a couple more days left before taxes start getting charged.  For New Mexicans, its like saving another 8% if you buy it now verses in a week!!! I personally bought these things as well as a sun oven, Red Cross solar radio/flashlight and other emergency products.  If you just want to shop around, you can go to www.shelfrelancemom.shelfreliance.com.

Food storage isn't necessarily perfect, but it is PERFECTLY necessary!

The time to prepare is now...why we really need to learn from Japan.

I try not to get too gloom and doom-y on you but I honestly feel like what is happening in Japan is not grabbing enough people's attention.  Why is it that a HUGE disaster affecting thousand upon thousands of people in a country that has the 3rd largest economy in the WORLD is not making more jaws drop.  The tsunami is not only affecting people in Japan and nearby surrounding countries, it is affecting US.  The nuclear waste is affecting the milk of cows, veggies, fruits... its huge.  I am so grateful that I have all of my powdered milk and I urge you all to order more powdered milk if you have some, and if you haven't even gotten started... PLEASE jump on the band wagon!!!  This video was done nicely in that it doesn't overdue the severity of the situation, but it does make people stop and think.   If you've started building a home store, fantastic. If you haven't, please do.  Please don't wait until after food prices have sky rocketed and food is a scarce commodity to think about feeding your families.  Each person should have a years supply of food and at least 2 weeks worth of water.  Also, please don't forget your 72 Hour Kits (more information to follow).  Please take the 4 minutes to watch the following video and let me know what you think. Thanks!

What is a 72 hour kit?

A 72 hour kit is a bag (usually a backpack) that you will be able to grab at a moment's notice should you be forced to flee from your homes at a moment's notice.  It should have enough food, clothing, shelter, battteries, important documents... to get you through 3 days in whatever situation you may be forced to enter.  There is a lot of variance as to what people put in it, but there are some guidelines which might be able to help.  Shelf Reliance actually sells kits that are awesome and allow you to either select the amount of people for whom you'd need to prepare as well as the level you'd need, or it will allow you to build your own kit.  This tool helps you to enter the disasters which would be most prevalent in your area (ie. I'm not going to need a blizzard safe backpack since I am in the sunny Southwest) and will help you decide what extras you might need.  You can order one of these by going to www.shelfreliancemom.shelfreliance.com and clicking BUY then typing in emergency kit to view the options.  This video will help you understand more about that process.

If you'd like to build your own kit, visit this FEMA site which gives you an idea of the basic necessities which should go in your kit and the reasons for doing so.

So, if I'm just going to have to flee, why is it important to have a YEAR'S Supply of food?

What is food storage?

Food storage is building up a supply of food in your home that you can use in more than just emergency situations.  If a job loss were to occur, you'd have a lot less stress knowing that your family is fed.  I know that many of the people from Japan had to flee, but those who were left in their homes without a place to go, electricity or grocery stores were really is a sad position when they began realizing they had nowhere to turn for their next meal.

How do I know what to store?

Shelf Reliance sells 1 year supplies of food which are already a measured amount of food your family would need to survive.  They sell cookbooks and other supplies to help you know what to do with all of this food.  Another nice thing is that most of it lasts for up to 25 years when sealed or 6-24 months once opened. This is a fantastic thing to think about getting as you will know that your family is safe for whatever may come.  The reason why I chose Shelf Reliance is because when I was comparing grams of food in a #10 can to all other competitors, they were almost always a better deal.  Once you've got your 1 year, I would suggest you start buying more foods for snacks and comfort as most of us are not actually used to living on only 1200 calories a day. Please, do what you can while you can.  If you cannot afford a whole year's supply at once, I would highly suggest you get on the Q and start stocking up on extra items each time you go to the grocery store. Don't forget other necessities like Toilet Paper, Deodorant, Shampoo....

If you have any questions about how to get started, please visit www.shelfreliancemom.shelfreliance.com or write me at TiffsTreasures@gmail.com.

Thrive Q Videos

Shelf Reliance has wonderful videos which explain how the Q works.  If you are interested in getting a Q but aren't quite sure how you'd be able to edit it, you can watch the following video.  If you know that you'd like to get started on the Q, go to www.shelfreliancemom.shelfreliance.com and click on the tab that says the Q at the top of the page.

What is Thrive Q?

For those of you just learning about Shelf Reliance, the Thrive Q is a monthly delivery service which allows you to set building a home store by saving up surplus food as a priority.  Many people also use this as a monthly grocery delivery service because the food is so tasty, healthy, and conveniently chopped up that you will  want to use it on a regular basis.  I love that I can change my food around to be the items that are on sale, what I need for storage or what I'm craving as a snack each month.

If you have set up your Q and are still confused after watching the video, write me and I can send you an email with step-by-step directions on how to use it, or we can set up a time to talk on the phone and get prompts straight from me!

The best news is that Shelf Reliance started a new pricing system which guarentees their Q Club members the best party prices for life.  Although they average Q is around $150/month, you can actually set it up for any value you'd like.  A good rule of thumb is around 25% of your current grocery budget.  Also, if you set up a Q for over $100 per month you receive the Platinum membership free for life.  To set up your Q please go to www.shelfreliancemom.shelfreliance.com.  Write me at TiffsTreasures@gmail.com if you need help with setting up your Q and I'd be happy to do it for you.

If you wanted to see how the Family Planner works (this is what the Q is based on) you can watch this video to find out more.

Video Posts

Hey everyone.  I get lots of food questions in person and wish that I had the time to do mini classes one-on-one for each person, but unforunately that is not the case.  I was just thinking today as I was preparing more food storage how I should start video recording myself doing different things and telling you tricks of the trade while  I am at it.  It seems that this will be a great method because anyone will be able to view the video at their leisure and they will be able to watch it multiple times to make sure they get the hang of it.  If you have something you were hoping I could help teach you or any questions about Food Storage in general, go ahead and post a comment here and I will try to do a video about that, find an existing one for you or find the answer myself.  Thanks ahead of time for helping me educate people on how to prepare for what is to come!

If you are interested in buying products, just go to www.shelfreliancemom.shelfreliance.com .

Join My Team

For anyone who is interested in joining my team, I would love to have you.  The demand for this amazing food storage is more than I ever dreamed and I need some help!  You can get these awesome discounted rates for you and your family and be able to extend them to all of those whom you hold dear.  An added bonus is that everyone who joins my team now through March 31st will be entered into a drawing for $200 in FREE FOOD.  That was my biggest struggle when getting started so I want to boost enthusiasm by helping others have a greater store from which to start.  If you are interested email me at TiffsTreasures@gmail.com today!

The best part about being a consultant for me is to know that I am helping people get the know how to prepare them for the events to come.  Let me know why you might be interested in joining my team so we can talk about what the benefits of being a consultant would be for you.

What are the benefits of being a consultant for Shelf Reliance?

There are no required amounts of sales.  You can literally work as many or as few hours as you would like.  If you want to become a consultant just for the discounts, that's fine.  If you would like to join the team because you want to make it a full time business, incredible.  You are the only decider of how much you work and the growth of your own business.

Does being a consultant for Shelf Reliance pay well?

YES!!!  Despite the fact that they have amazing prices that are comparable or beat competition, they also are extremely generous in their payment schedule.  You earn 10% commission on all party and online purchases and 5% of all residual Q's.  You've got to feel great about working for a company who gives their customers top-notch food at a top-notch rate and pays their employees well :) You also earn tons of half off and free items as you are able to "Host" your own party and receive the consultant and host benefits on all party orders not placed through a party.

What is the cost to become a consultant for Shelf Reliance?

The cost to become a Shelf Reliance consultant is only $199.  The only other requirement is that you have a Q.  That's it.... I love bottom lines with no fine print!  This is the cheapest business you could possibly join because it is already established, they pay for their own advertising, they keep track of billing.... you get the point.  To be honest with you I nearly made back my whole kit in my first party.

How many Shelf Reliance consultants are out there?

Unlike many other door-to-door make up sales companies with over a million employees, Shelf Reliance currently only has around 1300 consultants.  There has never been a better time to join since it is literally a ground-floor company.  The great thing is that food is a need so even if there are a number of employees in your area,  you will always be able to find people who need to eat ;) Please don't hesitate for too long because this number is growing rapidly.  When I joined only a couple of months ago, the number wasn't quite at 1000 so it shows you how the business is exploding.

What is the #1 reason to join?

With all of the free and half off product you can earn, you'll never have to go to the store again.  Okay, that's a slight exageration, but lets just say it saves you TONS of time at the grocery store.  I typically only go grocery shopping about 1-2 times a month now.  If I wanted, I could probably cut that down, but we still like getting other non-food storage items when they are on sale and stock up.  Oh yeh... another reason... all you can eat FD pineapple, mangoes, strawberries, or whatever FD fruit might be your weakness.  Its a healthy snack that you can go to guilt free knowing that you have plenty of cans being ordered after that one is opened.

Still have questions?

Email me at TiffsTreasures@gmail.com so I can send you the consultant handbook and any other information you would like to know.  You can visit my store at http://www.shelfreliancemom.shelfreliance.com and click on the tab that says JOIN to learn more about how to become a consultant and its benefits.  If you wish to enroll, you type tiffstreasures@gmail.com in all lowercase for my enroller email and my enroller ID is #2035.

Shelf Reliance to become the main distributor of Freeze Dried Foods?

My heart goes out to the people in Japan who are experiencing such devastation right now and have literally no food to their names.  Their grocery stores are empty and many of them have little more than a couple of meals worth of food left in their home.  I feel like we are so blessed to have all of the space and resources made available to those of us in the USA.  Even we can be taking these precious resources for granted by not saving up all of the surplus which we've been given.

Many people have approached me in the past few weeks with the news of Mountain House forcing its retailers and distributors to take their #10 canned freeze dried foods off of the market.  It seems that they are now back ordered by over 4 months and are forced to take their products off the market in order to catch up with these demands.  To read more about it, you can visit the following article.  The quote following the link proves an excellent point.

http://www.shtfplan.com/emergency-preparedness/freeze-dried-food-update-shortage-will-continue-in-2011-largest-manufacturer-suspends-distribution_02182011

"We maintain, as we wrote in Wealth Preservation, Investing, and Prepping For Hard Times, that purchasing commodities (food) now, can only benefit you and your family in the long run:
“If you are a prepper, for example, who is already stocking essentials foods and goods, you’re way ahead of the game. As commodity prices continue to rise for a variety of reasons, your “investment” is paying off in real terms. Buy 10 pounds of rice today for $10, and when that same bag of rice goes to $20 a year or two from now, you can say you earned a 100% return on your investment! And the great thing about your investment, is you don’t have any counter party risk, for the most part, meaning that you own the physical good and it is in your possession — you take delivery at any time!”
Those who took our advice a year ago have have made double digit percentage gains on their “hard asset” investments to date, but more importantly, have peace of mind knowing that if the worst were to occur they won’t go hungry."

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE get your food storage people.  I cannot say this enough.  If you have the basics for one year, awesome, but please don't stop there.... get as much as you can because we do not know for what we are preparing.  Not only is it a rise in your investment, you will not be able to EAT any of your other investments.  Share the news with friends, family and all of those whom you hold dear.

While I was at the Shelf Reliance Convention in SLC, the person giving us a tour of their new larger facility to be completed in May stated that Shelf Reliance currently has enough food in stock to fill the current demands for about 2-3 months.  Of course with increasing orders due to Mountain Food dropping out of the game, there have been increasing demands and orders. I ask you to have patience and be grateful that your wait for your food and items are only 2-4 weeks rather than the up to 20 weeks that other companies are having to do for their orders.  Also, Shelf Reliance gives presidence to orders by Q customers and consultants, so if you would like to ensure that you will continue to receive food, I urger you to sign up for the Q.  As pointed out in the quotation above, it will be the best investment which you could ever make.  If you were to sign up as a consultant underneath me, not only could you earn the consultant benefits on your orders, but you can also earn the Host Beneftis.  We have many people who sign up as consultants who are uninterested in hosting a party, but love the availability of the food coupled with the unbeatable pricing and rewards.  If you are interested in either the Q or becoming a consultant, email me at TiffsTreasures@gmail.com.

Finally, for anyone who has been sitting on the fence about whether or not to buy a shelving unit, water purifier, sun oven, wheat grinder, or any other higher priced item, now is the time.  Shelf Reliance just notified us that as of April 1st, they will begin charging tax on all future orders.  What does that mean?  If you live in NM and you want to get an extra 8% off make sure you buy whatever you were planning on buying before April 1st.  If you already know what you want, you can shop at http://www.shelfreliancemom.shelfreliance.com/ to get the awesome discounted price.

FINAL NOTE: I know I already wrote this on my Facebook, but please if you need the basics, go to Sam's, Costco or wherever else you can buy food in bulk and get what you can.  The cost of a 25lb of flour used to go on sale for $5, now, the cost is over $8.  This change occured in just the past couple weeks.  Prices are rising and food is becoming less available. I cannot urge you enough to PLEASE get on board.

Sorry for the straight forward seriousness of it all but I care about you so consider yourself loved!

Last note: Many people in Las Cruces buy their food through the LDS cannery, but I just wanted to let you know that currently Sam's beats their price on flour, sugar, white rice, pinto beans, and comes pretty darn close in pancake mix but the Krusteaz tastes better I believe.  You are still better off getting potatoe flakes and oats through the cannery if you are going for lowest price. With how cheap salt is, there is no excuse not to have a years supply.  If you are just starting out, you can get a year's supply for your family in a jiffy.  A 25 lb bag of salt is currently only $4 at Sam's.  I know this seems like alot, but you need 8lbs of salt per person.  Take a minute and think of how sad your life would be without this wonderful seasoning, then think of how happy you should be that it is so cheap and readily available. Go get some today!!!

Oh, by the way, when stocking up on your food storage, please don't forget to buy necessities like toilet paper and deodorant as well.  Right now Alberstons has their Charmin toilet paper on sale for 4.99.  At Walmart it is 5.97 so that is already significant savings, but if you have a .25 coupon for Charmin and have it quadrupled at Albertsons then you get a pack of TP for 3.99.... now can you really pass that deal up?

Also, for those of you who can your own chicken, the chicken at Lowe's is the cheapest price I've seen it in over a year.  It is $1.29 for the boneless skinless chicken breasts (usually close to $2/lb) so get canning people!
